Which countries does Invoice9 support?

Every EU member state. Format detection is automatic by buyer country: DE → ZUGFeRD/XRechnung, FR/AT → Factur-X, BE/NL/LU → PEPPOL UBL. Other countries get a plain compliant PDF.

Will the invoices pass official EU validators?

Yes. All e-invoice XML conforms to EN 16931 and the country-specific profile (ZUGFeRD 2.x, XRechnung, Factur-X, PEPPOL BIS 3.0). PDFs are PDF/A-3 with the XML embedded.

Can I customize the invoice template?

Yes. The drag-and-drop editor (powered by pdfme) lets you reposition every field, add your logo, set colors, and translate labels. Reset to default any time.

How does VAT validation work?

Buyer VAT numbers are validated against the EU VIES service automatically. For valid B2B cross-border orders, reverse-charge is applied (0% VAT) per EU law.

Where is my data stored?

All servers are inside the European Union (Hetzner / Netcup, Germany). Invoice records are retained for 10 years to satisfy EU accounting law. Customer data is redacted on request via Shopify GDPR webhooks.

What happens if I exceed my plan’s monthly invoice cap?

New invoices stop generating until the next billing cycle or you upgrade. We never lose data — orders queue and re-process automatically once you upgrade.
